Villa Camilla , a country estate in the tropics showcasing a blend of architectural inspirations, with bold statements expressed in grand volumes integrated into an elaborate garden landscape and inspired by regional elements.

An iron gate opens onto the central terracotta courtyard, connecting the lower and upper levels. The courtyard floor features a design of local riverbed pebbles and cement details.

The nearly 6-meter-high ceilings provide natural ventilation, while ochre hand-rubbed Venetian plaster walls imbue the rooms with coolness and light.

Eclectic furnishings range from the mosaic Ravenne table to Louis IX chairs, complemented by furniture designed by Gilles Saint-Gilles and custom-made in the Azueros workshops by local artisans.

Luxurious finishes include wood counters, terracotta tiles, and off-white hand-rubbed walls and tubs, creating a cool and calm atmosphere.

The system of adjustable windows, combining mosquito screens, shutters, and Venetian blinds, closes with an upright joist reminiscent of castles of yore, responding beautifully to climate changes. During the trade wind season, they can be left ajar to allow natural air circulation, avoiding the need for artificial ventilation.

Reclaimed purple heart wood is combined with oak wine caskets imported from France to create a parquet floor pattern reminiscent of Versailles, blending Panama's style with Old World charm.

Water laps at the wide edges of the pool, where round smooth pebbles from rivers and seas create a multicolored mosaic floor. Partially shaded from the tropical sun by a veranda supported by ample columns, the pool reflects the garden palms and the colors of the sunset.
