This faithful construction of 14th to 16th century tower consists of a nearly square 100 m2 floor plan with walls of Dordogne stone, approximately 80 cm thick. The 19 m high tower houses 4 levels of rooms connected by a helicoidal staircase cut from massive carved stone and raised on a Saracen vault.
A chemin de ronde at the top of the tower is raised on massive corbels carved from one piece. The chemin de ronde’s parament is raised upon rollers to insure a perfect rigidity and the flooring is in 8 cm thick massive oak.
The roof’s traditional frame of massive oak is covered with ancient recovered flat tiles.
